HTC is restructuring its U.S.
operations, a new division to spotlight on the future of innovation and division
equipment, as well as in managing positions shuffle.
HTC citing internal e-mail, Wall
Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Monday that Taiwan handset makers to form a
new division, called "emerging devices", focusing on new products and
global distribution strategies.
The company's current president
of North America Mike Woodward, will lead the new unit, while the president of international
sales Jason McKenzie will take over the head HTC America, reporting directly to
CEO Peter Chou.
"As you know and expect,
[HTC] need to do more," Zhou said. "With a victorious and we have a
lot of new opportunities, both to enlarge existing sales, as well as into new
distribution channels and new selling models."
In its second quarter 2013
earnings report earlier this month, HTC's revenue fell 23% to $ 2.3 billion,
while operating income last year fell to $ 30 million, down 87% compared with
the same quarter of 2012. Recovery in the quarter mainly by the end of March
launch of the HTC One help when it receives comments praising the quality of
the structure equipment and fast quad-core processors.
