HP will provide SAP HANA
in-memory database technology as a service in a model designed to allow the
company to analyze large data, the lower upfront capital investment.
This means that you can connect
to the HANA platform, "only a few weeks, not months," said HP.
HANA will bundle hardware and
software licenses along with follow-up management, according to a press release
on Sunday. It will run on HP's managed cloud surroundings, either as a managed
virtual private cloud or hosted private cloud, the local HP data centers.
Customers will pay a monthly
subscription fee based on the expansion and on-demand options for a five-year
commitment, so that they put more capital expenditures (CAPEX) for operating
expenditure (OPEX). Pricing will vary according to the customer's environment
