The new platform is designed to accelerate the development of the Internet of things by simplifying access to standardized technologies. Its use will enable companies to produce new devices with support for Internet of things, reduce the cost of R & D and start-up period of new products to the market.

Ericsson is one of the patent holders that will give third parties access to its proprietary technologies in the area of ​​IoT. According to calculations by Ericsson, licensing and granting of rights to use intellectual property (IPR & Licensing) through the platform will enhance the return on investment in R & D.
